I saw these corn stoves on ebay for 499.00 I think. I think cornflame inserts. I recall hearing about the guy who sells them ripping people off. Anybody else recall that. Thanks

Since many of us were probably burning the best we could during the past cold spell it is a good time to see if these dragons put out the heat they are supposed to. In my case 3 bu X 56 = 168# X 7000 = 1,175,000Btu Divided by 24 hours = 49,000Btu an hour. I didn't weigh the corn not sure about Btu's per # but the 4100 is supposed to do 50,000 Btu/hr. Pretty close and a little small for old house of 2300

Subject: Got the Blues (corn that is) - by: glass butcher

Have to show you what I am burning. Several farmers in the area grow different types of corn for the corn chip and taco makers. I have burned white (not so great) yellow as in for corn meal (very good) and now blue. Didn't have a clue that they started with blue corn to make blue chips, just thought food color.

This batch is not so good for chips, small and broken kernels and somebody opened the wrong door and let some soybeans it the bin. So I bought it for less than market price. They called it scrap but to me its heat. I do think it burns hotter than yellow dent but haven't done any scientific study's. Have about 6000 lbs. to use.

Happy New Year to all

Subject: Year A Round - by: KO in ND

Well as some of you probably heard (most probably don't care)...the Year A Round company who built corn fired hot water boilers (one of the few available in the U.S.) sold out and now the boiler they once made is no longer available. A few parts left I guess...but otherwise, no more YAR boilers. Mine is running on straight pellets this year.
