Hi Blume, I don't think that it's the actual switch itself, because it works fine when Bixcheck is connected to the stove. It only fails to work after exiting out of Bixcheck. I'm curious, but how do you know that the switch on the stoves that you've updated are actually working without the stove being connected to Bixcheck? The reason I ask is that you cannot use Bixcheck to confirm the operation of the switch because as soon as you click the monitor button after starting Bixcheck it immediately changes the program to whatever the switch is set to. This takes place before the actual monitor screen appears that shows what the switch is set to. In fact, the switch actually works perfectly even before the checksum and format fields turn to green. Anyway, I'm just curious because Mr. T. confirmed this problem and said that he'd fix it in the final 2.7x version after I explained to him what I had done in making fuel A and fuel B the same except for the convection fan speed. Regardless, I'd personally love it if the problem were indeed confined to just my stove...that would mean a fix could perhaps be had! Thanks for your offer of help. It's guys like you that make this forum such a valuable resource!

I installed 2.73 a week ago and the stove is working well. Can't say that I can detect any differences between 2.73 and 2.71 though. As for the fuel selection switch, the stove still doesn't respond to any changes to this switch while the stove is running unless the stove is connected to Bixcheck. Once again, I set the stove up so that Fuel A and Fuel B are the exact same program except for the convection fan settings. While hooked up to Bixcheck, flipping the switch back and forth would result in the convection fan speeding up and slowing down respectively. However, after disconnecting Bixcheck, the convection fan would no longer respond to changes in the switch position.

Who knows. Perhaps the fuel selection switch only responds to changes when the stove is OFF. In other words, in order to change fuels, you'd have to shut the stove off, then flip the switch. I doubt that is the way it is designed to run, since the switch does change the fuel program on the fly while connected to Bixcheck, but I'm not really sure.

I'm not sure. I'm hoping to install it next weekend. I wouldn't be surprised if Tomoroski fixed it though. Other than that, I've been happy with the 2.7x software.

After reading through this thread, I think that there may be some confusion regarding the fuel selection switch. In 2.71, this switch only works when the stove is connected to Bixcheck. I discovered this when I programmed Fuel A and Fuel B so that they were identical (Wood - Rich) except for the Convection Fan Speed (TC @ values). On Fuel A the convection fan would run at 35% at level 1 and on Fuel B it would run at 55% at level 1. I programmed the stove to do this so it would run quieter while we were watching television and faster and hopefully more efficient when we weren't. Anyhow, while connected to Bixcheck it worked perfectly. However, after disconnecting Bixcheck and removing the cable, the switch would no longer work. I could tell that it wasn't working because the convection fan would not speed up or slow down when I would flip the switch. However, as soon as I connected the cable and started Bixcheck again, it would work again. Anyway, the whole point in this is that the fuel selection switch does not work in 2.71 unless you are connected to Bixcheck. That's not a huge problem if you have the cable and Bixcheck, but if you don't you are simply stuck to one program. This issue was confirmed by Tomorkoski.

Can anyone else confirm that the fuel selection switch works in 2.71 without the cable being connected to the stove and Bixcheck running? It's never worked on mine and Tomorkoski confirmed the problem? Perhaps he made a fix to the software, but never changed the version number? If that's the case, then installing the 'fixed' (if it exists) 2.71 would solve the switch problem. Or, if 2.73 exists and works with the 115, then perhaps this version would solve the problem too. I'd love to see the switch fixed. I would use it to change the convection fan speed: fast and loud at night and slow and quiet when watching tv. Same fuel program, just different fan speeds.

Strange because the problem was confirmed by Tomoroski? in old forum when I first brought it up. I originally made both A and B the same except for convection fan speed (option to make it run quieter while watching TV) and it would not work unless cable hooked up and Bixcheck running on computer. Maybe I'll try loading it yet again...

Please note that unless you are hooked up to Bixcheck the fuel switch does not work. A flaw in 2.71 that has not and probably will never be corrected. To use the switch, just hook the stove up to Bixcheck and then move the switch.
