I am thinking about relocating my Harmon PC45 to an interior wall. I have a clear path straight up through the attic space out the roof. I do not want to make any holes in the floor or walls.

Is there a stove pipe that includes the intake air so I can continue to use outside air for combustion? I seem to remember a type of pipe that allowed the intake air to be taken from the liner but that might have been for a gas fireplace insert.

Any ideas?

4 Blinks: Can occur only in Room Temp Mode and
indicates Room Sensing Probe failed or not installed.
If a Room Sensing Probe is then installed, the status
light will automatically reset.
NOTE: Unit will not start in "AUTO" with this status
error.

Nice. I guess I have some work to do figuring my stove out.

How many pounds of pellets/corn do you use in a 24 hour period?

I normally run the stove in 'stove mode' burning pellets or corn pellet mix with corn pot with pellet grate end. Temps on front of stove by heat exchange usually between 400 - 500 degrees. snip..... Thanks, Rob

400 - 500 degrees !!!! Wow. How do you get it that hot?

I basically run the same setup as you.
Stove mode
100% pellets this year
corn pot (small hole)
feed adjuster = 2

I rarely get above 350°F and only for a time after the stove has just been cleaned.
What is your trick for these high temperatures?

Had the ESP probe fail on my PC45 the other day. Filled the room with smoke and set off the alarms in the house.

I turned the stove off, but the auger and combustion blower continued to run feeding the burn pot with fuel. When I realized the stove would not shut down on its own, I finally pulled the plug.

I cleaned everthing, when I plugged it back in the blower started immediately and I got three blinking lights. The stove would not go into ignition. (which was good)

A call to my dealer confirmed the ESP probe failure and replacement was easy and straighforward, just pull the probe from the exhaust and unplug it from the control board then install the new on.

Stove is operating normally now.

I believe the smoke was from an overheated exhaust stack near the rear of the stove, it looks like the paint is burnt and cracked on the exhaust pipe.
What danger existed with this failure?
Beyond the obvious smoke, if this had happened while we were away would the stove overheat?
Was there a fire risk?
Why didn't it shut down on its own?

thanks,

You don't say but it sounds like you have the controls set on room temp (On/Off Fan knob turned up)
Does the same problem occur if you start the stove with the control set on stove temp?

My PC45 has developed a random squeak which seems to occur when the feed motor runs. It doesn't happen all the time but frequently. Mostly it is a short high pitched squeak but sometimes it is much louder and sounds like a grinding noise. I am burning 50/50 mix of pellets and corn.

I have tried to pinpoint the source but it is not apparent to me where this sound is coming from.

Anyone have a suggestion?
