I do 30% hard wood pellets and 65% corn works well except a lot more cleaning upper chamber at least every 4-5 days. Never have a hard clinker.
used soy beans also when I got them cheap enough

Found the problem to be the four loose bolts under the feeder wheel, Cleaned the whole surfuce re-tightened the 5/32 bolts and replaced the feeder wheel.
No problem since. This is my stoves 9th season just prbobably wore loose . had that happen on the burn pot motor also two years ago. I'll do some Preventative Maintenace in spring.

Yeah me either I went thru two burn pot motors (broken gears) Corn was burning hot, tried everything even oyster shells to soften the clinker, wood pellets seem to work.
After 8 years of burning this year was the worst with trying to keep a good flame, either to lazy (rich) or to lean
Hard clinker

Well thanks to Blumes advice I now burn some wood pellets with the corn , have not had a stuck pot since, anyone have a ratio of wood pellets to corn ? I have a 8 year old 110 stove.
Thanks

the klinkers are coming out okay when they don't jam, I am not sure what you mean by using "BIX Check" been running good for twelve hours on #2 waiting for a ash dump cycle soon we will see ... I have been burning for 7 years now just the last two have been disheartening. Plus the cost of corn from 1.43 to this year at 6.55

Thank you, Anu advice on How should the plates be aligned ?? Perfectly centered with the dump hole on the furthest stroke on the dump cycle?
I also found not installing the motor cam correctly (Too far down on shaft) will cause the cam to hit one of the four installation bolts on the head.

Thanks I have found that with oyster pellets added in causes my drive feeder wheel to stop working ...build up of shells to the back of wheel seizing it up

You need to richen the mix watch your flame should be steady and not oscillating (high to low) over 6 - 8 minute viewing, also oyster shells ground... The calcium carbonate reduces the starch/klinker build up in the firepot and makes the klinker much softer. A little bit goes a long way. The most you should need for a full season of heating a normal sized home is one or two bags.
forum.iburncorn.com/wiki/index.php/Oyster_Shell buy it at most feed stores, still the leaner (hotter) the flame the harder the klinker been battleing it for a while myself. wood pelletys mix will help but I hate the extra cleaning burning wood pellet mix
Rock hard clinker

This is my fifth motor drive assembly in two years breaks a gear off the assembly trying to clean the Burn pot out I have read about everything I can even add oyster shells to soften the clinker up, I can't even guess the amount of hours I spent watching the flame and gettting right. It burns great for two months then crashes!!!! is there something mechanical I am missing here???
I am at a $900 in drive motors and thinking of a wood burner burner. Anyone have a suggestion???
