Do I use PAM to lubricate the motors?
b) Why not use WD-40 instead?
c) Do I spray the end of the shafts or do I tear the motor apart?

These have gumming qualities you don't want. Pam is for keeping it from rusting offseason not for motors.I use fogging oil. 20 weight electric motor oil is best, like 3-1 electric motor oil. There is a sponge on the back of the shaft on the agitator motor that dries out and needs a couple drops oil yearly or more, plus there are gears in the gear box that could use grease.

Sorry if i am missing something. But a wind deflector would not be needed on a fresh air kit, just screen for bugs and birds. Make sure intake is BELOW exhaust. My cousin used metal electric conduit, had to order 2" elbows from electrician friend, but it worked. I used 2" copper pipe and elbows, total cost $20 at Menards, 7 years ago i'll admitt, probably twice that today. If you want more info on my install let me know.

I shut down and cleaned my 6039 in basement today. I go up 6 foot and out 5 foot.
I have a hood deflector on the end of the 5'. After using the leaf blower to blow out, went outside to spray fogging oil from outside into pipe when I noticed the duravent pipe has the last 10 inches completely rusted out, at least the outer galvanized layer, the inside stainless appears to be ok, I sprayed fogging oil in there like crazy. Pipe survived 6 seasons, seeing it is outside, safe to use one more season? Is this usual? Any thoughts appreciated.
Thanks

Our fire seems to burn too fast, corn and pellet # 2, everything else on automatic. If try to slow air flow, fire will go out. Any ideas? Any ideas or suggestions on mixing corn/pellets ratio and whether runs better on corn or pellet? We seem to like the 6039 better, what does everybody else think.
