I will have to do a softwood low, -5 trial then...
When I used it the flame was lazy and smokey.
I like sunflower cause I can run on low and make tons of heat.

Jump the wires on the vac switch and see what happens. If it starts working, it could be one of the above problems. Stay in touch. Kap

I got the new one installed and working fine. They had a redesign. The stock one was a big metal rectangle the new redesigned one was a small round plastic one. FYI for everyone, the puter only checks for vacuum at start up. Once it checks and finds vac it doesn't check again till next start up.
Thanks for you help Kap

I've had my Mt. Vernon AE for about 5 years now. I still think I get the most heat using the sunflower fuel setting. Anyone else doing this? It cleans less, it cranks out the heat. It probably eats a bit more fuel. I use the high elev. setting with manual Low. and -5 flame.
Yep
I have been for the last few years. Same settings as you except elevation. Works great. I never got the soft pellets setting to work correctly which is the longest between cleans. Ran a little to smokie and when I turn up the air (elevation) it sucked all the heat out.

Thanks Kap
Ok more questions for trouble shooting.
At 10 last night I stuffed the stove and went to bed. Went down to stuff it again and saw the error.
I "rebooted" the stove this morning it went through auto clean and when it went into startup it error-ed right out. Almost instant.
As you know my exhaust fan has been making noise but it seems to be spinning just fine.
Coldest night of the year and it takes a shit:unsure:

Try jumping the vac switch posts together and see if it works. Vac switch could be bad. Also check vac hose for obstructions, and make sure the nipple on drop tube is clear too. Could be a bad door gasket not sealing also. Dirty exhaust path. Plugged f.a.r. What year of stove, and what rev control board do you have? Kap
Kap
I woke up to this error this morning.
Where is this vac switch located?

It runs 24 7. At this moment it is not making any noise. I will try to catch it after a clean cycle and let you know. Maybe it fixed itself.

Yeah. I hand that exhaust housing off and clean it real good again, cleaned in the spring. That is where I thought the noise was coming from. The fan spins fine with no noise when you spin it by hand. When it is powered upped is when the rubbing noise happens. There is no play in the baring/shaft.

I took it off and clean it again. Wasn't that dusty. The noise seems to be coming from the motor itself. Like one of the magnets is rubbing on the cup/flywheel thing. I wonder what brakeclean will do to it? It was not makings any noise this morning.

I thought this would be a good thread for us Quad owners.
I have a AE built in Oct of 2007
I burn O'malley premium hard wood pellets
My stove is set on Man low sunflower setting.
Flame hight is -5
I have a home made fresh air kit
My stove is in the basement and keeps the basement 80 degrees
The house stays at 72 degrees. My house is a ranch
I live in SE Pennsylvania
My stove runs 24/7 and I burn about 85 lbs of pellets a day.
A typical winter I burn 5 1/2 tons of pellets.
I have replaced the drop tube TC, combustion fan, the hopper switch and one ignighter so far.
