Blume is right I am having same problems except mine shuts down after ash dump.Trying very carefully to get trim pot controls to work.

The metal ignitors I got from blume are still chugging along.Stove still running too.Thanks again to all of you who cared.

Started my maxfire and ran great for 1 day then during the night heard stove shut down with #2 light flashing.Looked inside glass door and corn was piled high in burnpot.When flame was burning it looked blue & orange.Last year I replaced vent pipe am wondering if there could be air leak.Or maybe something else.

I thought I did until this morning when I heard stove shut down with corn piled high dont get it.Now Corny you see what I mean by frustrating.This is how its been works for about 1 day then disaster.

OK to all who helped me get my stove running again Blume,Corny,Rona and everyone else thank you.Turns out that I found air leak with black hose not on completely.Small increments did the job also.And the left ignitor terminal was not snapped on right.Both ignitors work stove is purring like a kitten.Much thanks to all who make this forum a complete success.Exhaust fan 0 feed -2.Blume still interested in metal ignitors.

Sounds familiar from past.Here is something icleaned out burnpot and found shiny black corn kernels burned but all loose in ash drawer with some half burnt and some not burned at all.also when stove is running flame has blue and orange color to it is that normal.

Yes also when I diconnect thermostat wires to try dialing trim knobs stove still runs if as it was still connected.

hi guys started late with bixby maxfire this year.Ihave had a lot of problems with stove in the past been able to fix most problems to date.However my old nemesis 1&7 lights are blinking again.I must of replaced 10 or so ignitors it could be ignitor board just dont know.also having trouble keeping fire going played with both dials like a piano it may over flow burnpot or just die out.Stove no longer under warranty need some help Blume are you out there.

Hi corny welcome back well I went to wiki link for trobleshooting.Got the lower paddle to swing at the right position.Did a lot of cleaning both inside & outside the stove.Found an exhaust leak where rubber hose connects to blower fan box.Clamp & hose were not on right.Stove is running since last evening waiting for ash dump keeping my fingers crossed.Manny thanks to all my corn burning buddies.

OK finally got the stove running went to the old forum and was able to get all the kinks out.Many thanks to all you corn burners who made this possible.sometimes we forget those who help us and your time and patience does not go unnoticed.Thanks to those for this forum to help beginners keep their house warm for the winter months.

As always one of your answers were correct.Turns out the plug that goes in the stove was loose.Now I have power but find out the lower paddle does not move to correct position when I startit.All this cleaning & troubleshooting and still no heat.Its like taking care of a baby,going nuts.

I cleaned everything inside & out.Plugged stove in no lights no diagnostic check wondering if fuse blown .If it is a fuse are they the two where ignitors are dont know.

Well I cleaned the end cap and pipe.they were both filled with dirt & soot.Took exhaust fan cover off and cleaned inside box and fan plenty of dirt there too.also came across a bad connection on rubber hose may be where air leak is and why stove was not getting enough oxygen.Going to clean convection tubes next will let you all know how I made out.thanks for the help.

Would that be the corrugated black hose or the black pipe or both.Thanks rona will give it a good cleaning.

problem with bixby again.Stove would run for 1 or 2 days then shut down with 2&3 lights flashing,Tried all settings and no luck.Then recently stove would start up and heat up to almost 300 degrees,with blower on high all the time till stove would shut down with 3&5lights flashing.This morning plugged stove in no lights & no diagnostic check.Also when ash drawer is shut no air gets in have to open a little to have it run.

Replaced 6 ignitors in my stove.No problem stove covered till june 2011.Just curious are there any other ignitors that would be compatable to light a maxfire.I under stand there very expensive.
