I am terrible with search, and am not finding anything about converting from pellet only to multifuel in a classic bay 1200. I have had my stove for 14 years now and was wondering what I could do to burn something other than wood pellets in it? Firepot/ignitor/controlbox change out?

Hello from SW Arkansas. I've had a Quadrafire CB 1200 since 1997. Very few problems, but great service from original dealer when I did. First stove auger motor went out first winter, dealer brought new motor and it ran reverse, switching wires around did not fix, so dealer just replaced the entire stove. Too bad he retired.

Not many problems, one themocouple and cover, one ignitor. I've replaced second control box - power surges took out first two. Highly recommend using a surge protector.

Thinking of putting a corn/pellet burner in the house and putting the 1200 out in the shop. Nothing against cutting, splitting, stacking, etc., but why if you don't have to?

Hope to learn the what's good and what's bad about burning corn.

Had CB 1200 since July 1997. Replaced ignitor in December 2004, replaced control box and thermocouple January 2011. Replaced control box several years ago but don't have date.

Looks like I should have picked up ignitor when I got other parts. But it looks like I'm getting pretty good life out of mine compared to others.
