Thanks. I went to google and found instructions how to program a board. It was set to program 2, I changed it to #1. No change.
Had enough time tonight to find out what it does. It starts, burns hot, so hot I can't touch the stove, then shuts down without ever seeing "proof of fire." #3 light blinks. I misspoke the other day, the blinking power light never does stop blinking. It won't come out of startup. POF switch was replaced last year and no, I don't remember what went first, the board or the switch.
Guy from Even-Temp who I have been emailing back and forth, suggested that I jump the pof switch. So I did. No change.
I traced the brown wires all the way back from the pof switch to the board. Wires are good and plug(s) look OK. No loose connections.
I still have no idea why the room fan comes on whenver I unplug the vacuum wires. Do you have a diagram of where each wire is supposed to be in the plug at the board?
Thanks for the help

It has all three and is set to manual, the same setting used on the last one. Is that not correct?

did the board come with instructions for setting the fuel choice?
No, it came with bubblewrap.
They have done away with separate boards for the stoves, one board does both pellet and corn stoves. HOWEVER, you must set the board for what you are burning and if it is a pellet or corn stove.
There is a set of pins (2 rows of 4 iirc) but no little jumper thingy on any of them. To me that's kinda odd. Don't know what else on it would be selectable.
Do you have a thermostat hooked up to the stove?
No
Does the on off light blink after start up mode is over?
Not until it shuts itself off. For the short time it will do a normal burn, no blinking lights.

I've been burning wood because of the price of corn.
Dad, a farmer who grows his own corn, also switched to wood pellets due to $7 corn. Last week we returned a pallet and a half of pellets and he went back to corn. He has a Countryside Magnum and the helpful gentleman on the phone knew exactly what dad's problem was. Bad pellets. sure enough, burning corn again fixed all his woes...too many to mention here. Just curious if you've had any issues with the Auburn and wood pellets. I see you mentioned a different burn pot. Tell me more.

Well, the high limit switch never did show. In case you didn't notice, it was ordered over a year ago. Gave up on corn burner and started burning regular old firewood. I have 30 year old "loongwood" dual fuel furnace so I can burn oil or wood in house. Kicks butt. This is my first year so I didn't know how much I would need...ran a little short. Anyway...fired up the Auburn for first time in over a year tonight. As it was about done going thru its startup I unplugged my vacuum bypass to see what would happen. THE DANG BLOWER FAN KICKED ON JUST LIKE IT SHOULD HAVE ALL ALONG!!!! No idea why. I plugged it back in and the fan quit, unplugged it again and nothing. Now waiting for stove to cool off so I can try a fresh cold start.
No idea what the connection with the vacuum control and blower fan may be but it's something sorta positive anyway.
Trying to download a manual from St Croix's website. Link deadends on me. Tells me to update adobe which I did and every time I click on manual (go) it tells me to update. Blah blah blah. I'm wondering if new control board is wired different than old??? Shouldn't be.
Who knows. A chainsaw is a lot of work, but at least wood burns w/o 47 different blowers, motors, relay, and boards.

I did install the new fan just because I didn't have any other parts laying around to try. It's not any quieter, but it only runs for 27 seconds at a time so no real test yet.
Waiting for a high-limit switch to show up. That's the last part left to replace. If that doesn't do it, I guess I need a service call.

replaced the blower motor just 'cause I'm running out of ideas. No change. Only two possibilities left. The high limit switch is bad or the new board is junk. Nothing else it can be.

POF switch replaced and it still tells me no proof of fire, #3 light blinking. Stove burns perfectly. Starts great, adds corn like it should, then decides there is no fire and goes into shutdown.
Blower fan runs fine on initial startup when it does its little diagnostic thing, but that's the last time it comes on. I have a new blower sitting here, but I don't see the point of installing it if the stove won't keep burning.
High limit switch doesn't seem to need resetting. It doesn't click by the switch at all, but it does click back by the board if I push the button when it's in startup. Once it's in shutdown, the reset does nothing. Is that normal?
Anybody got any ideas? I think I'm gonna try pulling the blower and testing for power during startup. See if that will show me anything.

UPDATE: Control board was bad. Hasn't run since I put the new board in though 'cause now the POF switch isn't sensing fire. Stove burns great for 10 minutes and then shuts down with #3 light blinking. Will be calling dealer tomorrow again and getting a new switch.

I still haven't replaced my room fan as I'm not convinced that's the problem. I'm fairly certain I need a new control panel. Something changes the speed of the room fan randomly. Last year it made noise that made me think it needed replacing, so far no noise this year.
Also, does anyone know if there is a capacitor of some sort that might need replacing? My combustion fan takes forever to get going and the flame looks as though the draft is closed. Fire pot kills itself in short order. I've been burning fuel oil lately as the corn stove is in-operable for the most part. I'm pretty certain I need a new burn fan gasket too.
Add up all the parts I need or might need and this thing might end up in the scrap heap.

How old are these stoves needing replacement parts?
Not old enough. Mine is either 3 or 4 years old...I think only 3.

Yes it works. Now the room fan is about to blow up. Time for a new search.

I found this site (iburncorn) when trying to find a combustion fan for my Auburn. Not much help. So, I figured I'd provide a link for those looking for the same part.
Auburn part #80p20001
or
Fasco part #A082 which appears to replace #70219457
Here's where I ordered mine. It's supposed to be here tomorrow so I'll let everyone know if it fits/works.
