Keep getting an auger jam error. Took out auger, cleaned out pellets and vacuumed out. I found the sensor eye, but was unable to loosen the screws holding it in place. I tried to blow any dust that might be on it. I blew out the vacuum hose that is on the drop tube.
The auger will start out moving clockwise and then changes direction and then indicates the error and shuts down.
Is the anything else I should check before ordering a new auger?
Thanks

Did you have a tech install the new fuel tables to go along with that igniter?
I installed igniter. I had new tables installed about a year ago. However, I am guessing they were lost when I changed elevation setting. Changing the elevation is the only way I can get stove out of quiet mode at times. I usually have to do that once a day. It seems like a lot a trouble for a $4,000 unit.

Last fall I installed the new burn pot that is supposed to help with igniter burnout. I have burned out two so far. The last one survived only 3 months and was replaced with the 90 day warranty.
The new igniter is the lower watt version just for pellets.
With a stove that restarts every few hours what did Quad expect to happen?

I know it warns you that you will, but its too crazy to believe. Please someone tell me it's not so. If it is I will never have updated tables. About once a day I have to switch it from high/low or low/high to get it out of quiet mode.
I know it just can't be true, but I have this feeling....

Everything on that stove is built to burn at a certain temp range. Adding coal to increase temp doesn't sound like a good idea.
For one thing, if it burned down your house and the insurance company found out it had some coal in it they may not cover the loss.....Even if it wasnt the fault of the coal.

I know, shame on me. I have been running stove w/o the snap disk. I have not been running when I am not home. I finally ordered the snap disk. Going to try and fix the harness myself.

My dealer wants $28 for the disk and $45 for the harness.
Is there a source online that these can be bought? I googled the item numbers but didn't really find anything.
Thanks

I would say either, but am betting BF is right. When was the last time the conv. fan was cleaned? This may have caused it to jam/stall, whatever. Or it could be going bad.
The conv blower is clean. I haven't had any hint that it has had any issues. Not discounting it just not sure.
I just wish I could figure out if it melted from a short or heat from the drop tube. I am going to be worried about running this thing when I'm not home until then.
Kap, I also need to replace the snap disc harness. Do you know what the item number is and the cost? I believe the item number for the disc is 230-1290.
Thanks

how hard is it to pull the auger? I was getting auger jam errors after i got it started again. I tapped on the auger housing with a fair amount of sawdust falling down the droptube. haven't had anymore augers error since. just wondering if I had a fire in the drop tube.

Are there enough amps going through those wires to melt the connections? I wondering instead if a fire in the drop tube would get hot enought to melt them.

Would a fire in the drop tube be hot enough to melt one of the connections?

Came home today and could smell something hot. Stove was not running but was still hot. There were pellet coals smoldering in the burnpot. Had multiple messages including snapdisk, comb blower jamb and conv blower jamb. Discovered that the resettable snap disk on the auger was burned up. One of the blue connections was melted.
I cut the ends off and bypassed the snapdisk. Stove starts right up now.
It doesn't look like there was a fire in the drop tube.
Any ideas would could have casued the wire to burn up?
Thanks

I just bought a new marine 75amp/hr battery. I put it on my new battery charger to make sure it was charged up.
When I first start operating the stove off this battery the wall control shows the battery with a full charge(13v). However it drops to(12v) within a minute or so.
Is this normal or should it show it at full charge longer?
Thanks!

I have issues at times with a clinker sticking and not falling. Seems like the pellet brand is the biggest cause. Seems like quad could make the pot desinged in a way that it would crush any clinker when it slides open. I have the idea penciled out, maybe I should send it to them. It would be an easy fix.
