Maybe by removing voltage then applying it again, something resets? I have been using my Baby for about 7 years, and the power button on my board has a noticeable indent, but is still working.
I'm not sure if a snap disk could cause this or not. Knock on wood (pellets), the only issue I have had with mine has been the room fan.
I have a spare board for mine, maybe two, I could possibly take a look at one and get a better look at how it works, if you haven't figured it out yet.
Hope this helps. I'm not online too much, but I'll try to check the site.

rdaly; I'm the same way, that's why it was hard for me to accept the fact it was overheating. I have always oiled the motor since new, it gets cleaned once a month during the burning season, and I've had it apart to lube the bearings with high temp grease several times. I had serviced everything before burning started this year, late October, and everything had been fine until last night. The motor spins very free and I don't hear anything loose inside. I will try to take it apart when time permits, my work schedule is very odd the next 3 days.
Thanks for your insight and help.

Well, by accident, I may have figured out the problem. Does the room fan motor have a built in over temp? While I was typing my post for help, the fan quit again, this time not wired thru the control board. When I open up the Baby to check her out, I touched the fan motor. It was very hot, not melt down hot, but definitely hotter than normal. I didn't notice this when I wired it direct, but I did let the stove cool down first. Still doesn't make since why the control board wasn't sending voltage, unless it also has a safety.
Now I guess I'm on a search for a motor or fan assembly. Kerosene heaters until then.
Thanks again all;
Tim

Hi all;
I've had my Baby now going on 7 years and this is the first time I've encountered any problems. First off, my Baby is the AC version. The problem I am having is that the room fan runs for about 10 minutes or so, then it shuts off. I first thought the motor may be going out, but I checked voltage to the motor and there wasn't any. I shut the stove down and allowed it to cool, then restarted, and the fan started as it should and also had proper voltage.
For now, I just wired the room fan to a 120v pigtail with a switch so I can control it. Since the Baby is our only heat source, it needs to run. Cold in Southern Ohio right now.
Does this sound like a control board issue, or possibly a problem with a snap disk? If a snap disk, what is the proper way to check them?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Hey all;
Thanks for the great info. No, I don't have them installed yet, they are still sitting in the shop. I need to get them cleaned up and then I will "test fire" the one that works. I guess I am just spoiled using my "Baby". Light it up and walk away for 24 hrs or so.
Mine are the older ones, serial # 1314 and 1322. 3 green buttons for fuel type.
I'll let you know how things go. Who knows, I may use one of these in my shop instead of my blast heater. I know it would be cheaper to run.
Thanks again for the help.

I live around Cincinnati, Ohio and have an ad looking for another Baby. The people I bought these from was going to list them on Craigslist but saw my ad and contacted me.
I hope I can get them burning, but still would rather have the Baby. It just works better for my situation.
I'm going outside today and tinker a little. They definitely are a beast of a stove. Plus battery back up built in.
We'll see if it was worth the money. Just wish I knew more about them. I did list them myself on Craigslist, just to see if sell or trade for one I am a little more familiar with.

Hey all;
I'm not new to burning corn and pellets, I have owned a Baby for 6 years and love it.
I just bought 2 Dell Point Europa 75 stoves for $200 for the pair. 1 is a working stove and 1 needs a little tinkering. Both of them need a major cleaning. These things have so many adjustments and buttons compared to my Baby, where do I start? I would like to try burning pellets, but where do I start as far as setting go? The manual scares the heck out of me compared to my Baby.
Anyone out there have one of these that would share some wisdom with a newbie?
Thanks in advance for your help!!

I have a different stove, but Kroil has always worked on mine. When I burn corn I have to do it a couple times a year. One thing I do with mine is that I spray it while the stove is still warm, when it's cooling down for me to clean it out. It usually takes 5 minutes or so and I work the handle at the same time.
I also have to spray my clean out door latches as well. Same process.
I hope you get it fixed.

I have used a Baby (AC) for about 5 years now in a late 1800's, two story brick home, with approx 1800 square feet. It's far from being insulated perfectly and we do use ceiling fans in the downstairs. We have no other heat in our home and it does very well, even on periods below zero.
I like the Baby because it doesn't have a ton of moving parts or multiple draft adjustments. VERY user friendly. I burnt corn only up until this year and now have been burning pellets. I did the tin foil trick to the air wash on the door glass and that is it.
I have other family members with different brands and mine so far has needed the least amount of maintenance.
I hope this helps. BTW, make sure you get both pots if possible, corn and pellet.

Yes, my family and friends have been very supportive of me. Without them I would not be doing as well as I am or have this good of an attitude. Because of all the issues since the accident, legal matters, no income, fighting to get temp disability assistance and just being able to take care of daily matters, my family and friends have really stood beside me.
Even my community has been very helpful. I am on many churches prayer lists and I get cards from people offering support that I have never met. It's nice to know that there is still good, honest people out there.
I am going to put a link to my crash scene pictures. These were taken by the Ohio State Highway Patrol while I was still being attended to by the EMT's. There is no blood or anything like that. I didn't see a separate place here at the site to put this, so if there is please let me know and I'll move it.

It took me a while to be able to look at them. Bothered me a lot in the beginning. I spend 6 weeks in the hospital before coming home.
I really like this site and reading about everyone's burners. I am going to buy another one when things settle down. I heat my home, approx 1800 sqft with the baby only. Does a very good job.
Thanks again for the warm welcome here.

Corny;
The tin foil trick on the Baby Magnum is cover up part of the door glass air wash vent. Directs more air into the pot. Worked like a charm on mine to let me burn the pellets. Had no problem with corn.
I had a lot of issues after the accident. I broke my shoulder, 12 right ribs, collapsed right lung, broke right hip/pelvis, tore all ligaments in right knee, and had blood clots in both lungs, left groin and left calf. I also had hairline fractures in my orbital sockets and cheek bones. It was a 45mph impact and I was wearing a helmet. I'll beat this and can't wait to get back to work. I am hopeful it will be this year.
Thanks to everyone again for the warm welcome and support. I does help a lot.

Yeah, it's an x-ray of my new and improved right hip/pelvis. Wasn't allowed to walk for 3 months.
Sometimes I find it useful to look at the crash pics and remember just how lucky I was to survive the accident. A car pulled in front of me and I t-boned him on my motorcycle on 4/15/2010.

Slowly getting better. I just had my 2nd knee surgery last Tuesday. A lot of therapy left to get better. Will probably lose 20% use of right knee but it could have been tons worse.
I guess I should have stated the only assistance Heap offered us between corn and pellets was for pellets. I bet it won't be long before they have venders for corn as well. They offer assistance foe electric, propane, heating oil, ect. There are many people in the area heating with corn, pellets or a mix.
I have several family members that burn corn so this site is welcomed news.
Thanks for the warm welcome.

Hello,
My name is Tim and I live in Southwest Ohio, in the Lynchburg area. I actually found the old site while searching for burning suggestions for my cousin. He bought a used US Stove, 6039, I believe. After reading some tips it burns like a champ.
I have a AES Baby (AC) model and have burned corn only for approx 4 years. This year is the first year it ever saw pellets, other than lighting. I had problems burning them until I read the tin foil trick. Amazing how much better it burns now. I had tried and checked everything. Even modified my pellet pot a little.
I am only burning pellets because I was in a motorcycle accident and have been unable to work since 4/15/2010. Heap assistance here in Ohio gave me a fuel credit, but only for pellets. Since I have no income since the accident I am very grateful for the help. With the trouble I was having getting them to burn I didn't know what I was going to do. Thanks to the site, no issues with them now.
Sorry for such a long first post. I am glad to be a member here at the site.
