Yes and no. You have the new style board, which has pellet AND corn settings programmed into it. I will do some digging tomorrow morning here and try to post how to make sure it is set to your particular stove.

It is fairly simple, just have to have the stove shut off and cool and you change settings by pushing some of the buttons on the front of the board.

On the front of the board, does the slide switch just have the options of just thermostat and manual, or does it also have smartstat?

When you put the new board on it, did the board come with instructions for setting the fuel choice? They have done away with separate boards for the stoves, one board does both pellet and corn stoves. HOWEVER, you must set the board for what you are burning and if it is a pellet or corn stove.

This may or may not be your problem. Do you have a thermostat hooked up to the stove? Does the on off light blink after start up mode is over?

I don't have the hvac schooling that it sounds like you have, but to me it sounds as though you have turned that negative pressure furnace into a positive pressure unit, and by burning pellets in it, you are looking to have a hopper fire.

I would suggest taking that draft inducing fan off and figuring out where there is still some blockage in your exhaust path.

Is the stove an FPI Manufactured one or an older model from Claude? If you could pm us the serial number we could get you a price either way.

If you have the 2 update kits on the furnace, which the dealer should have installed, removing the burn pot isn't bad at all. First time will probably take an hour, after that a lot less. Just remember to remove the ignitor before you start.....the pot won't come out with out the ignitor removed. ( It might, but you don't want to break the ignitor)
I think the owners manual covers removing and re-installing the pot pretty good, especially if you have the extra pages that came with the update kits. If not, St Croix has the updated manual on their website.

Do you take the burn pot out and clean all the holes in it?

Have you weaseled a choke cable up thru the small clean out doors and hooked up an electric drill to it to knock any ash buildup from behind the wall?

Have you ever taken the combustion fan out and cleaned it and the housing it mounts in?

What is your exhaust set up? Has that been cleaned lately?

We had this problem with a unit a customer had bought from someone else and had installed by the other dealer. They had soot problems as you are describing and couldn't find the leak.

We checked everything over and couldn't see any obvious leaks. We shut the stove off, let it cool down and then plugged the exhaust outside with a rag. We then dropped 3 or 4 lit smoke bombs in the burn pot area and started the stove up. You could see every spot where there was a leak and it was a fairly easy fix. You may have to do it a few times if you don't see the leak the first time but it will work.

We haven't had any customers have a hole develop in the burn pot.

I wonder if yours with the hole wasn't allowing some unburnt, or partially burn pellets thru to the ash pan.....then they would basically just lay there and smolder...and when you shut the furnace off, they would continue to smolder and I am sure some of the smoke would make it back thru the fresh air or the air window wash into the room.

Unless they changed the criteria from last years tax credit, used stoves don't qualify, the unit has to be a new one.

We took in an "Earthway" (I believe the name was) pellet insert a couple months ago on trade. The "guts" of that stove looked quite a bit like the one pictured above. Did Traeger manufacture for other companies, or perhaps under different brand names?

To the best of my knowledge there are no knobs for where you were referring.

On the back of the stove, held on by one screw should be a small piece of metal, kind of in an L shape. This little tool has a slot on the shorter part of the L, this is made to fit onto the heat exchanger and burnpot rods to grab them.
