Anyone have any tips for cleaning out the heat exchanger tubes on the 5775? I purchased the brushes, but can't get them to go beyond the first bend. Maybe that's normal, but I doubt they'd be 3' long if that was the case.

On another note, if someone could post a pic of the auger motor that would be great. I think someone replaced mine, because it doesn't seem to fit quite right with the metal "stopper". It does work though, it just can rock back and forth.

Do I need to use a wall thimble and how about having a 45 degree bend in the pipe? I'm thinking if I go through the wall, I'd like it to go in the corner of the room (facing the center).

Thanks for the photo. I actually was able to get through to Murray and he has the part available. My only question now is whether to get it and run the pipe through my wall or preferably run it up our existing prefab fireplace pipe.

My thought was to leave the back of the stove as is, and run the 3" pipe about a foot, then 90 degree it straight up the fireplace to the very top. I would then cut a 3" hole in the fireplace pipe where it meets the roof and use flexible pipe to run the fresh air up to that point. Only thing holding me back is the vertical height, which I've been told could be a problem. It's about 8-10ft of vertical.

My plan was to run 2 separate 3" pipes up the 8" chimney pipe. The fresh air would vent out the side of the pipe, while the exhaust would contine another 3ft to the top of the chimney. I'm pretty sure that would be ok. I'm more concerned at the moment about what I'm missing on the rear of the stove (should I vent it conventionally).

Doesn't appear this forum gets half the traffic it use to, but here's a pic of the of the stove. Even if I just had a photo to see what I'm missing. I've contacted the manufacturer, but have had no success in finding what I need. Seems like the old envirotec section had a bunch of guys using these. Did they all leave the forum once it switched???

Here's a photo of the back. If anyone knows what I'm missing or has these parts, please let me know. I plan on having this as my primary heat source and need to get it up and running ASAP. Thanks.

Maybe I was mislead by all the activity in the old forum, no one uses one of these anymore?

I recently purchased an Envirotec stove made in 9/94. It looks identical to the 5775, but I'm trying to figure out what model it could be. I'm also in need of the panel or cover that connects the fresh air inlet to the 6in pipe, which vents out of the house. If I had to I could probably build it, but would like to know what it looks like. Does anyone have a photo of the back they could post? I do have other questions about venting it through our fireplace, but they're posted in the Newbie section.

Thanks Bob. I just realized it doesn't have a separate fresh air inlet. It's missing the cover that connects to the 3in exhaust and 6in pipe. Any idea where I could find one?

Hello Everyone,

I noticed this site the other day and looks like there's plenty of great folks and info here, so thought I'd sign up. Well the rain has finally decided to quit for a while and I have the chance to get some work done before the inevitable happens.

Anyways, I just purchased my first stove, which is an old Envirotec manufactured in 94. It looks to me pretty much like the 5775 and the only difference I can visibly see, is that it has a separate 3in pipe for the air inlet. I'd love to know what it is if anyone has some ideas. Aside from the model ID, I could use a hand with how to install it. Currently, I'm considering removing the base and placing the stove in front of our prefab wood fireplace and venting both the exhaust and the intake through the fireplace pipe (I believe its 8in). The total length is probably 8-10ft. I was thinking of using a flexible pipe for the intake and cutting a hole in the base of the fireplace pipe where it meets the rooftop and continuing the exhaust to the top. I'd then make an 8in cap with 2 3in holes to replace the damper. Any thoughts of whether this would work? I could sure use some advice.

Also, I'm pretty sure it wasn't designed to burn straight wood pellets, but if I did would this cause any safety issues?

Thanks for the help!
