I figured I would just update. I have fixed the problem, I checked the wires coming from the thermostat with a volt meter and they where fine. I then took a jumper wire and jumped the terminals, the furnace stayed in pilot mode which told me something was wrong in the furnace wiring. I unbolted the circuit board and found that the one of the wires had come unplugged and the other was very loose.

yes I am burning straight pellets. I believe the jumper you are referring to here is for the amount of time between when the auger kicks on. I dont believe that would have anything to do with the thermostat, correct me if Im wrong.I also do have a manual for the furnace and have read it over a few times it doesn't say much about the thermostat hookup.

Its just a sfc050 not the revolution. Where would this jumper wire be? Another thing i wonder about is for the wires running to the thermostat I had some telephone line laying around so i used that could this be the problem? I just figured its a solid copper small gauge wire.

I bought a used scf 050 this year it seems to run very well. I decided to hook up a thermostat to it to help with the pellet consumption. I seem to be having some problems with it, it was working just fine last night when I hooked it up. Today I shut down the stove to do a thorough cleaning because I didn't feel it was putting out as much heat as it should. I started it back up and now once it goes through the startup procedure it goes into pilot mode with the green light blinking wether or not the thermostat is calling for heat. I switched it back to manual mode and it seems to be running fine. What could cause this to happen?

Hi, I am new to the forum. I recently purchased a st.croix scf-50 furnace. It has a 4" vent pipe and my question is could I reduce that down to 3" or is that a bad idea?
