Glad the site was up when I checked!!!

Have to burn corn or corn mix due to stove and have no way to store bulk which sucks.

Question for you all.

Have any of you had to do a motor conversion? I have an early Dovetec and want convert from forced to pulled. This is due to the main burn motor went out last year and the replacement motor wants to overheat. Any conversion help will be very helpful.

I am running my Dovetec and have it set up to keep the house around 75 and the firebox is 525. Is this a good temp or is the fire too hot? If this is too hot what is a good temp or is it relative to the temp of the house? Also this doesn't apply to Mustang00 as we know that she keeps the house warm

Here is a calculator that I have found for this very thing.

Does anybody have a problem with the air in the house drying out or is that not a problem with this type of heat? If it is a problem what is a good remedy for it?

I have been doing some leg work and have found out that Dovetec was the original Nesco corn heater. They went through a company split and made Snow-flame and Amaizablaze. The Dovetec is comparable to the Snow-flame model #5000 and the Amaizablaze Iroquois (model #4100). I have researched the parts and most can be gotten from Grainger.com. More information will be posted as I receive it.

According to the manual that I found it can burn both but I don't know if I should trust the manual. What is a positive pressure stove btw?
Simple questions

I have gotten my Dovetec to fire twice so far. I have more experience with wood stoves but wanting some information.

1. The snap disc is slow (in my opinion) to come on could this be a sign that it is going out?

2. The flame is a good yellow color.(see picture) or at least I think it is. Should the flame be this tall or should it be short?

3. Is 50/50 a good ratio to burn corn/pellet or should I run a different ratio?

4. I have found the manual that is floating around, but it leaves allot to be desired. Can a reclaimer be used but not sure with my setup how to do it.

5. What is a good place to purchase corn cheap in central Indiana.

Any and all help is much appreciated.
