I am currently heating with a 50,000btu corn/pellet stove, 2000sq ft, stove will keep up even with 0 degree temps and wind. My question to the owners of these units, why did you, and would you again purchase one of these units? What is the life expectency of these units, cost? They seem to have simular btu ratings, and cleaning schedule. The reason for the potential change is I would like to get the fire out of the house, and the kids are growing so an endless supply of cheap hot water might be needed.

Today I cleaned out the hopper and underneath the feedwheel, and since winter is finally showing up, I decide to finish off last years corn. I have been burning pellets thus far, and very happy with the heat and the extremely clean burn. Instead of feeding the deer, I'm gonna feed the Bixby, I have about 700lbs to get rid of. For me the pellets are much easier to work with, cleaner burning and less handling. But the corn is no doubt the King for heat!!!
