It's too bad that wood pellets aren't the size of corn kernels. Too much variance in size between brands. Auger feed furnaces simply cannot drop the volume of pellets compared to corn....less heat, for the same setting.

Do your homework, don't be in a hurry, all good advice in the previous posts. These folks have yrs. of experience and they know what they're talking about. Maybe you can locate someone within resonable driving distance that has a setup you can see operate....tough to beat "hands-on". Lots to consider, fuel availability, sometimes purchasing in off season will save you quite a bit, all pellets are not equal [heatwise, cleanliness].Where will you store your fuel? 2-3 ton will take some room. Is delivery available? You don't want to tote it any distance, it'll get old in a hurry.Ask questions....beware of some sales folk, they may want to sell you something you may not need. This is a great site, look over the "Old Forum"...lots of good advice. Myself, I've had good luck with my Mgnum 3500P for the past 7 seasons. Whatever you decide, you can't go wrong with w multi-fuelstove. Good Luck.

Thanks Mike for the quick turnaround on your parts.I recently ordered a new brickboard and cleanout plugs...the originals lasted a touch over 7 yrs. Having good service is what it's all about, and I appreciate the timely fashion in which I received my order.

Corny....I went with the Mobile CornVac, and it works very well.I used a piece of pvc as a pickup tube, with about a 3' section of the supplied flex hose. My vac is 5.5 hp [Lowes] and it worked fine. Only modification I made was to the bottom of the pickup tube....I fastened a large cotter pin to the bottom of the tube with a radiator hose clamp to keep the tube about an inch off the bottom of my dump cart. The wood pellets loaded easily...about an hour and a half to do a ton,at a comfortable pace. Got 4 ton done in two afternoons, plus ato reserve still on a pallet. With all the frightening weather occuring everywhere, I'm glad I purchased my pellets early on....I'm afraid the cost of corn this season will be very high. The planting seasons for a lot of crops , including corn are already a good month behind with no end in sight. Good luck to all !

I should have mentioned that whatever system, it needs to be potable. I'll be burning pellets this year, as I've burned corn the past 6 seasons. Prices dictate a change. I need to trnsfer pellets from dumpcart/tractor, with a total run of no more than 10', lift about 5'. I have 4 one ton bins in garage that will need filling...in the past I've been using a 5 gal. bucket, and its works o.k. But I'm coming up on 65 and starting to run out of steam....Thx for ideas/input.
