I Bought the AES pot. Best thing I ever did for that stove.
I will not go back to the grinding pot.

I used then in lieu of pellets when I was blending with corn. I found them to be comparable to pellets when used this way. However I didn't like how they performed when burning them straight. Of course that was in a USSC 6039. I can feed anything into her and get a good burn. I call it Mrs. Fusion.

Have you tried mixing in some pellets or pits? I run about a 20% pellet mix. Clinker comes out every time, even without a hanger.

Jim,
Have you considered using weather tight barrels??
6 barrels will hold just over 1 ton, give or take.

Do you have pictures? I did something similar, and I'd love to see what you came up with, and how you did it.

how do I adjust the air to the fire pot?
I run my stove in "auto" mode. Air is controlled by the draft fan.
Do you shut the draft slide and just use whatever comes in the OAK?
Yep!
a valve of some kind in the OAK
This is a modification some users have made. Personally, I thing you are better off leaving the fresh air intake WIDE OPEN and controlling air intake by adjusting your draft fan. I can run HR-1 through 9 without any adjusments once the stove is "tuned."

+1 on the t-stat. I hooked on up 2 years back, when my pregger wife struggled going down stairs. That way I knew what the temp would be when I got home!

I will get back to the burner,
It's amazing, something that sleeps 18 hours a day still manages to eat up every spare moment you have.
I wouldn't trade it for the world!

Remember the blind beta testing some of us did several years ago on a product that would eliminate the clinker from forming in a corn burner?
So what's the rest of the story?

I swear, without this site and it's members I would have given up and sold my stove.
Sold... Try give away!!
But thanks to this site and its members, I try to get anyone I know that uses propane to convert to corn! Single digits outside, and the kids are running around the house in diapers!

I had a problem similar to yours. Turns out a couple bags of high moisture feed corn got mixed in with my skid of fuel corn. Might start there.

Does anyone know if I can upload Solidworks files, as I made alot of cad plans afterwards.
For others to view? If you save the assembly as an ".easm" file, you can download a free viewer.
Or if you just want a backup file, make it an attachment in your next post. Either way, please do, I would love to see it.
