I almost forgot how much I love the smell of a corn stove, Our area in Ontario had a super dry summer as well, which brought up corn prices to some extent, however im looking forward to having a corn stove for the entire burning season, and hoping to not have my oil furnace kick on at all. We got our corn stove installed in january and loved every day it worked right, it was a strong learning curve as we know no one in person who has ever had or even heard of corn stoves, so thank god i found this forum last winter, as we would still be burning dirty corn unefficiently to this day..

Nice to be back, i think the corn stove is the only thing i look forward to in the winter

so, still frustrated that my fan stopped working, i took it apart again, greased it and wiped it down, and noticed that part of it seemed wrong, so i tweaked it some, found that a part wasnt fitting properly, got it back together the way it seemed like it should work, plugged it in, and it worked!!!! so it turns out that those little motors are easy for someone with literally no taught knowledge or experience in how to repair them can do it! Not going to lie, im pretty happy that i couldnt find a replacement to buy today, just took a little more patience than i had last night, and my god is the stove ever working more efficiently!

Love the corn

Made a handheld sort or version, and its working really really well so far, eventually we will build one in the garage once we build the storage bin, but until then this one will work. Corn is burning so much better! very excited, Im a huge fan of learning all the tricks to this new corn burning life we are enjoying.

Figured it out, rather simple explanation really, the new corn we got was just not cleaned well enough, so tonight for the time being im using a kitchen strainer to sift the gunk out, and tomorrow im off to the hardware store to purchase the materials required to create a shop vac attachment to clean the corn better. Anyone have simple plans they can share with me, with perhaps a shopping list to go with it?

Got the cleaned corn into the stove after cleaning the stove out, and everything is running fine (great rather) again. the stove is pumping out the heat bringing the temperature in the house back up to 73 in a matter of a few minutes (which being in canada, and right off the great lake) its -20 outside and you'd never know it sitting anywhere in the house.

Thank-you for all of your knowledge, and im certain as i try to follow the learning curve, that you will hear from me often! happy burning!

If one was to build this what would the shopping list look like?

we put ours in the corner, all we had to do was get our existing exhaust pipe bent at our friends custom exhaust shop. but it was easy for them to do and im much happier that we didn't have to have it just piped straight.

Well, its been over a week since we got our corn stove up and running, and i must say that i absolutely love it. I just have one question, it doesn't seem like the corn stove is pushing out as much heat as it was last week, is there some kind of adjustment to make or what exactly needs to be cleaned out on a regular basis?

Thanks! After talking to Murray from Caneco yesterday, I got it all figured out, there was corn jamming the combustion fan from turning, so i vancuumed that out, and once it sounded like the shop vac wasn't pulling anything else out, plugged it in, turned it on, and we had air!!

Got the fire started, and everyting went as hoped from there, before bed we turned off the main furnace and let the corn stove do its job at level 2 and woke up this morning to a warm 72 degrees upstairs. Tons of heat, love it!!

Brand new to corn, but ive been reading on the forums for a while (old and new) doing research up until this point.

Got a used Envirotec 5775, and everything appeared to be in working condition so we got it installed, and then went to fire it up, thus noticing that the combustion fan doesnt work.... so I opened up the side, and see immediately, that the previous owners had done some of their own wiring, the middle thermostat wasnt even attached to anything, nor was it in the spot it should have been (just sitting on the bottom) and the wires that were once attached to it, are spliced into another set of wires running to a different thermostat (which is why my air blower fan comes on the second you turn on the burner).. So after a few emails with Murray, and one phone call i think i may be able to get it figured out... we will see.
