I am just wondering what you are burning and if it is not corn where do you get it from. I am wondering about pellets or cherry pits or whatever. I have heard cherry pits are better than corn like they burn cleaner and have more btus. I am interested, but the only place I can find them in bulk is in Michigan. Also I am interested in pellets. Where is the best place to get them? I for sure want bulk packaging and I have no idea where to get them. I used to get corn from my dad, but with the corn prices the way they are he is not so willing to supply me and I don't blame him. He is even installing a HE LPG furnace instead of burning corn ike he has been for the last 10 years or so with a kernel burner. He is also interested in other fuels. Thanks

Does anyone have any info on the old SAR furnaces. I picked on up on an auction. I actually think it is one of them that is pictured on the old forum. If you look on the SAR page the title is old time sar photos. The one i have is the first picture on the top of the post. I believe it is the same because SAR was from Pocahontas IA and I bought it at the sale in Pocahontas. I am wondering if anyone has an owners manual for one of them or knows anything about them, like If pellets are ok to use as the main fuel source. Thanks

Hello all, I am a new member here form Iowa. I found you here while trying to lookup some info on a corn furnace I recently bought on an auction. For the last 2 winters I have been using an American Harvest corn stove to heat my garage. It couldnt quite keep up. I wasn't really looking for anything different, but I was at an auction recently that had 5 or 6 SAR furnaces. When they got to them I went over to see what they were going to go for. The first one was probably one of the first that they ever made. I picked it up for $30. I thought it was a steal. It seems to work, but I was looking for more info on them. All I could seem to find was on your old forum. I look forward to learning a lot from all of you.
