Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking about using sealant to fill in the gaps, just wanted to get some ideas about on what everyone else is doing. Thanks again.
Quadra-fire Castile ...

Hello ALL,
I just bought my first home and now own a quadra-fire castile pellet insert so I have been trying to learn as much about it as I can. I have read many topics on the forum and have found lots of very useful information that I plan to put to good use, however I can’t find an answer to my question. Please redirect if this has been answered elsewhere.
I would like to install/build an outside air kit. I have pulled the stove out located the hole that the owner’s manual shows to attach the OAK, as this leads right to where the firepot/ashtray are located it is clearly not very airtight. I must be missing a step or something because the gaps around the ashtray are as wide as a half inch in places this does not seem logical to me. Draw air in from outside for combustion only to let that air escape into the house as well? Thanks in advance for any advice will be welcomed.
