Success!!! I did buy a new auger but when I finally got everything unjammed, I was able to get the old auger motor working. Not sure if I can return the new one or if I'll have a spare on hand.

I didn't get the new motor yet. There's no gearbox on the motor, it's a direct drive with a post that inserts into the back of the auger and then held in place with a screw. I need to order a new one online. I was hoping one of the local shops had one in stock.

It's difficult to see the bushing when I'm in the back of it trying to push it back in. Is there a way in from the front? I'm hoping there is. If I have to do this everytime there's an auger jam, it's going to be a problem. This is my second season with this furnace.

Thanks,

Just found this site and there appears to be more SCF-050 owners here than on other sites that I'm on. Anyway, I burn pellets in my SCF-050. This year I decided on softwood and I found there are a lot of fines. I ended up with a bad auger jam yesterday and apparently my auger motor is burned out. I removed the auger motor and manually turned the auger until all the pellets/fines were out. I didn't remove the auger but it did back out a bit.

How do I get the auger to go back in properly? Is there access to the auger from the front if I open it up?

I can't find any maintenance documents on this furnace and/or how to work on it.

I will have to order a new auger motor and hopefully remember how to put it back together.

Thanks,

Fred
