Thanks Kap, I heard you were the man for quadrafire! I just put a few drops of that 3 and 1 all purpose lubercant on the end of motor. I can see the end of the shaft rotate. The oil pulled alot of dirt out of the end of the shaft. Its been about 30 mins now and no noise. Hopefully it will stay quiet until we get some warmer weather and I can take the whole assembly out and inspect it. Thanks again!

I installed my santa fe insert about 3 years ago. I have been very happy with it and have not replaced any parts other than the door gasket. The auger has always been noisey but latley it has been making a terrible squealing noise when the auger motor turns. If i push on the back end of motor the noise stops but as soon as I let go it returns. Should I lubrcate the motor? If so, what is the best lubercant and where should it be applied? This noise is driving us crazy!
