Hello Forum; I hate to ask a question because it only leads to another question instead of an answer. What is a load or legacy system info?
That being said........some time ago (in the 90's) I built a 1500 sq ft garage; I repair broken cars & trucks & any thing else. I build radient floor heat. I tried solo, electric, & settled with oil fired boiler ($.92 a gal) life was good. In 2007 the price went to over $5, long story but I bought a corn boiler. The middle of winter I installed it; basicly plumbed it into my existing system connected with 1 inch copper piping. 1st year I burned corn; 2nd yr I burned a mix of pellets & corn. I tried to scientifically find the right mix, ended up filling the hopper with a bag of pellets, bag of corn, bag of pellets, bag of corn; untill the hopper was full; then did the same next day. I slowly tried to wean the corn out but always ended up plugging the auger. Thats when I found out about the retro kit; now life is good again. I have also over the years expanded my shop to over 3000 sq ft; all with radient floor heat and I have about 4 zones. In the mix of things I have added a hot water tank, space heater , and roof snow melt; all hot water. Needless to say the corn boiler can't keep up (my fault being dumb); So I would like to improve the efficiency a bit, without tearing everything out or spending a fortune. I might be over thinking this project. Its not pretty but I can say when the outside temp is -5 the inside temp is no less than 65F. Not making excuses, just trying to work with what I have
