I once had problems burning above HR 2. I figured out my rodent screen at the end of the exhaust vent was plugged.

I just fired my 6039 up a few days ago. I'm burning 100% pellets - our local Menard's is carrying "Magic Spark" pellets. They seem to be burning fine. I normally burn 100% corn that we grow; but at $7 a bushel and very poor yields, it just wasn't feasible for this winter.
I have the old style 6039 with several mods to get corn to burn well, so it's a bit of a learning curve with the pellets. Mods are thanks to CornFusion from the old board.

It's amazing how $7 corn puts a damper on attendance. I didn't even realize the forum was down all summer.

You may also try cleaning behind the side plates in the burn chamber (if your stove has them). I use a piece of 1/4" flexible tubing to clean every nook and cranny I can find - every 1 to 2 weeks. You may also want to check your door gasket and glass gasket to ensure a good seal.

Sign 2024 made the pot for my 6039. I'm still 100% satisfied with the quality and will never go back to the stirrer.

I wipe mine with a dry paper towel everyday when I pull the clinker and it cleans it well. I also use glass cleaner once every week or two when I shut the stove down to do a full clean.

How easy is it to keep the fire going when you pull the clinker? I am considering one of these for a second stove.

My hangers sound about like FirepotPete's. I pull the clinker once every 24 hours and it is very easy - burning 100% corn. I wouldn't even consider doing it without a hanger. The clinker is very hard and you need the leverage from the hanger to remove it easily.

We've been getting some of the flour moths for the first time. I started burning this year with 20 or 30 bushel of last years corn that came from a small bin. I'm sure that is where they came from - it was not pretty corn.

The original replacement was 1/2" square rope gasket (part #88112), but is no longer available. The recommended item is now a standard 5/8" rope gasket (part #88066). I didn't buy mine through US Stove though, I believe it is Meeco brand.

Makes sense to me. When I called my insurance company after installation, their only concern was that is was installed according to all the manufacturers recommendations.

Mine is 4 X 8 X 4 on legs. I have two slide gates on the bottom to empty the corn in 5 gallon buckets. I don't remember the exact formula, but that size box will hold just over 100 bushels. I figure with the extra supports, I'm getting 90 some bushels in mine.
