But that chart shows negative deficits under Clinton, not debt.

Call it what you wish. It is a reduction of what we owe.

Debt is the accumulation of all previous deficits minus surpluses, plus the SS payroll tax surpluss they borrowed to reduce the deficits.

The accumulation of deficits is the debt held by the public, where the debt incurred to the Social Security Trust Fund is debt owed by the government to itself. The sum of the two is referred to as the Gross Debt.[/quote]

Blah Blah Blah Blah Bring in more money than we spend and we will have it fixed. Clinton had us on the path to paying of the debt and we need to get back on that path.

On this chart under Clinton we see negative debt.It seems like all the other presidents want to spend and give money back to the people that we can't afford to give back. The budget problems are complex but the solutions are embarrassingly simple. Return tax and spending levels to at least Clinton levels. In fact we will have to increase beyond Clinton levels to solve the budget issues.

US automakers said they could not meet pollution standards and then Japan made car that would and more MPG. Now all meet the law.
They said no lead in the gas and now we have no lead in the gas and they sell the lead substitute for the old cars. Gas don't need lead so why have it.
The point here is laws are need because many ppl don't like change.

Bob Around here (Wisconsin) the paper mills use less wood now but now the pellet manufactures are using the extra wood. The price for natural gas is going up 6% so I don't see the surge towards pellets. The people burning corn may use pellets now and that may increase demand some but several converted to pellets last year.

This weekend was the energy fair. The HHO cell wet was there with about 50 people interested. The dry cell looks good. Most of us that are doing work on this stuff have day jobs and just our pocket money to fund it. We haven't mastered the wet cell. It will take time to get to the dry cell. All the testing I do is done with the lab equipment I have at home. We need people to build this stuff and use it in the real world. Thanks for all the nice links.

Why would Mexican people buying high power guns bother you? You want gun laws removed so anyone can buy guns! You position on gun control is not clear. It sounds like you want gun control. NRA is very clear on this they don't want any law that requires registering or background checks. Are you a plant from the gun control group in the Democratic party?

So you don't think we should not have a separation of church and state? We are a melting pot of religions. One religion should not be forming public policy. Any religion forcing their beliefs on Americans is a threat to the US.

I hope you have tried DMSO and/or MSM (DMSO2). DMSO is what I use. The word is out at work that the stuff works and I now keep 5 bottles at home now because people want bottles of it. It sells for $20 to $28 for a 4oz bottle of the gel type. At $20 bucks a bottle the drug companies can't make any money ,so this is not FDA approved. If you want to try something about as effective that is FDA (approved 2 years back but has has been used in EU over 8 years)approved ask you doctor for Pennsaid $120 a bottle. I warn you doctors normally don't know anything about the drugs. I hate to say it ,but the US medical system has fallen so far into disrepair that people are taking control of their own healthcare and unfortunately you will have to do this . You don't need to live with pain and pay $1000s for drugs and doctor bills. I wish you the best of luck.

The key to getting food cheap is not dealing with store if you can help it and buy local. Vegetables are cheap in the store for non organic. About $1to $2 a lb but if you find a local non certified grower that grows organically they normally sell for under a $1 a lb and you can put the bulk in the freezer. Many farmers need help picking and you can earn food and some cash by picking. If you can't pick much you could pick what you just need and they charge very little. The main cost is the labor to pick. I find getting fruit cheap is my biggest problem. I now go out and pick 2-3 gallon of blueberries they are $20 for them and they have the ones that are nearly wild and they have 10x the antioxidants. The guy next door has kids that grow cranberries and I get as much as I can pick up after they harvest normally 5 gallon bucket because I gave them my old compound miter saw when the guard broke. My friend has wild black berries on the farm and has more then they ever need so I can pick all I need normally.
The friend also has ground round and it's Black Angus beef and you get 1 teaspoon or less grease per lb for $2.50 lb. I buy 20lbs to 30lbs in a shot when he has meat to sell.

I am now putting in raised gardens and hoping to grow my own food at home and controlling what goes into the garden.

Wheeling and dealing goes a long way now days.

The parents don't buy it because it is more expensive and they can't afford it. Part of it is from the way the parents grew up in poverty also. You get trained to not buy raw foods that need cooking because they aren't readily available from food shelves. It is a chronic problem that has spanned generations. I am living off social security after getting hurt at work and burning through my 401k to pay medical bills. I see what the grocery prices are but I still pay more to buy raw foods and prepare them myself because it is healthier. I am only supporting myself so it is easier to do, a family setting you buy whats cheap and filling.

Obesity is inked to eating the wrong foods and lack of physical activity. They have access to decent food but they buy junk food. The poor living near me only eat junk food like pop, pizza, hamburgers, fries, hot dogs. I offered them corn on the cob and potatoes and they said they do not eat it. In the past 3 years I have never seen them eat a vegetable. The kids come over and look in my solar oven and ask if they could have some and they ate the mixed vegetables , potatoes and chicken breasts,so they will eat it. The parents don't buy it. We have farmers markets that sell vegetables much cheaper than the store and they take food stamps.
They hardly ever take a walk. They watch hours of TV in the AC and drink pop by the cases and smoke a pack of smokes each day.I would be fat if I done that.

Mary B. your exactly right but its not like they dont know, its their agenda.they want you to recycle and save the earth(co2 global carbon tax) as they kill us off.

Wrong:

This is not a government document and has no real numbers attached to it. It just pie chart made by some political action group. I hope you don't think anyone will take your pie chart seriously. But I do have to admit I did get a good chuck out of it.

With obesity at record levels it would do Americans good to ride a bike around and save some money on gas.It may help them lose a few pounds to boot. Higher gas prices are not all bad after all.

I think you folks are saying you want higher gas taxes, right? So now it's OK to tax people because they are too fat? Is it OK to tax people who don't have blond hair as well? What if their eyes are the wrong color? I think we fought a war over that sort of thinking not so many years ago.... yes I do believe that was called World War II.

We fought a war so we don't need to peddle a bike? We all have energy choices. If you wish to pick the most expensive one that is fine but don't complain about the price of it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for biking and rode 16 miles in today and will hopefully ride 16 miles back home tonight. But raising gas taxes is never the answer. That just puts more of your money into the politicians hands....

You talk about taxes and I never stated the word taxes. I am glad you are coming around to my way of thinking and riding a bike.

Rich make 80% of the money and only pay 40% of the taxes.Hmmm that sounds like they need to pay 80% of the taxes. Lets not get into tax shelters and stock options. I think on this Memorial day we need to remember the death of the middle class.

You have good points. It's too late here for the state of Wisconsin. The workers that can retire are already doing so. My sister just went to the retirement party of 14 people from just one unemployment department. They are filling the openings with part time jobs so they don't have to pay benefits. I for one don't want some part time worker having access to my SS#. I am not a union worker but I support all union workers keep up the good work.
