For the second year I have gone straight pellets and loving it . They are cleaner and a lot less trouble than corn . I have extended the room temp probe on my PC 45 by ten feet just around the corner from my stove where it no longer blows on it and it is like a totally different stove keeps 2000 sq foot ranch style house at 72 degrees very comfortable

As most with the price of corn I am burning pellets . My question is with my pc 45 I seem to get more heat with the corn set up than the pellet set up ? Just want to see if its me or has any one else noticed this .

I have burnt corn for five years but with the corn prices and the farmer I buy from not keeping corn to burn I am switching to pellets. Im thinking it is going to be a lot less work than the corn. Here is the question should I run the pellets through my cleaner ? It would stop some dust I know but that is the only think I can think of. Any ideas ?

In one of the posts they said that white ash in the stove was a hot fire and black ash was a cool fire. my pc45 is always black is this good or bad ? the stove runs great lots of heat and I only have to clean it about once a week. the feed rate is on 3.5 on room temp and burning a mix of corn and pellets two feed scoops of corn to one scoop of pellets. no trouble just asking

I have been using crisco shorting and coating my stir rods then wrapping them in foil and putting on top of my stove (like you would season a cast iron skillet) then when i clean the stove i unwrap one and put it in. I have been running five and six days with very little ash sticking give it a try I think you like what you see

pellets do not need to be cleaned but the cleaner the fuel you use in your stove the cleaner it will burn and the cleaner the stove will be

my feed rate is #3 on start up it acts like it wants to fill the burn pot but once it burns a while it will burn it down and run for a week at a time with no trouble
