Sleet just started at 6:15 p.m. (about 20 min. ago) in NE Indiana. Supposed to change to rain around midnight...but it's gonna be ugly until then. Plow trucks just went by, spreading salt and sand.
Stay safe and warm, everyone!

Sounds like you're close to us, cardoctork. We're just south of Ft. Wayne. Cold and windy as the dickens, for sure.
Glad you got her running better.

When faced with an overflowing pot, cardoctork, you can force an ash dump by hitting the on button once.
Hope everyone weathers the cold snap warmly and safely!!

Hey guys. I've searched the Wiki and I can't find the posts on the bearings for the auxillary fan (the 110's third fan). The fan just started that lovely up/down oscillating speed & sound yesterday during cool down. Remember, this is the fan that we had hardwired a few years back (cools the inner workings of the stove) and have to unplug the stove to shut off totally. Can anyone tell me what bearings...and where to get them? Thanks in advance!!

Thanks, JA, for getting the site back up. Great to see everyone again.
Been burning for a week, just short burns to take the chill off. Already had a few heavy frost mornings...sure is pretty when the pastures are all frosty white.
Funny how messy a barn gets over the summer... Hubby's out there now, cleaning the spot where we park the trailer and corn box. Checked price last week when I picked up a few bags of corn to get us by until there's room in the barn for our winter supply. 50 cents a bu. more than it was last year so yeah, a little more expensive but...we all know how I like being warm...

I don't have your stove, matt but as to the fan running unless you unplug the stove...I use a surge protector with an off/on switch instead of unplugging from the outlet. So much easier to push a button instead of pulling the plug...which naturally is behind furniture and is a royal pain in the keister to get to...

Ouch Nogas...God blessed ya with some good young'uns, eh? Hope you heal quickly! You're in our prayers.
Burning again today. Chilly and the wind is still howling like a banshee...tore another piece of fascia off the house. Down to 5 bu. of corn to finish the season. Just doing short burns a few times a day so we sure won't have much, if any, left.

Every time I think we're done burning... Time to turn the girl on again, temps are dropping to the low 30s tonight and we've got high winds (sustained of 30 mph with 45 mph gusts). Wind that strong is just miserable...

Baby girl Bixby turned on for the first time in two weeks. Got down to 31, wind chill of 26. Harvested the first spears of asparagus last night before covering the bed with straw in prep for the frost warning.

Yep, sure is an odd spring, eh? We too have about 10 bu. to burn but not when it's 84 on freaking March 20th!! It's hard to remember that it can and has snowed in Northern Indiana in May so we still may get some cold weather.
Gotta say I've gotten a lot of yard work done this past week. Just too beautiful not to be outside. Two ugly makeshift dog pens, gone. Crappy 12'x6' concrete block pad that was plunked down in the middle of the back yard, gone. And wow, there was a chicken coop hidden in a overgrown weed patch! Actually, I knew the coop was there but I didn't have a clue about the big pile of unsplit stove wood...or the railroad ties...or the metal roof panels. Even discovered a stock gate hidden in the 6' tall weeds.
The garden has finally dried out enough to work. A friend is bringing a load of composted cow manure tomorrow so I'm praying we don't get rain until it's tilled in. This is the first time since last fall (when we struck the deal for the manure) that it's finally dry enough to get a truck behind the barn and to the garden. Wet clay...not a good thing to drive on. Sink into is more like it...

Hey ya Matt. I'm sure one of the guys will chime in about the feed wheel. I don't think the size has changed but you're probably right on the fuel rate problem but I would think that could be solved with tuning. I think most have found the older stoves work better with corn. We've only burned corn in ours because our dealer had said the 110's and 100's don't do well with pellets so what the heck...corn it is.
Try getting hold of a bag of stove corn and see how she does on different fuel. You could also try mixing corn and pellets, that might help your jamming. Have to be careful that your brand of pellets aren't too long for the cups and aren't loaded with dust. A mix would help that. At least you'd have the more consistant kernal size to counter balance the pellet size. Also, pellets eat up the feed wheel gasket. There's info in the Wiki on some modifications some have done on the gasket.
Good luck and happy burning.

Welcome to the forum, Mattg. There are a few of us with 100's on here. I'm on season 7 with my 110. It's a great stove, no major probs. Had to replace the feed wheel motor, other than that...just normal stuff to maintain her. Glad you got the air pump fixed with a minimum of effort. Loads of info to be had in the Wiki and plenty of us that check in often for more personal help.
Happy burning!!

Slow day, eh Corny...so you just had to find something to fill up time?? I'm glad you did, cool little videos, wonderful set-up, thanks for sharing them with us!
Hubby built me a plywood transfer box to move corn from the big crib. It holds about 4 bu., positioned so I can move corn from the crib to the box with the shop vac. A quick exhange of vac hose from the box to the screener/cleaner, I'm set to clean corn for the little girl. I use a plastic pitcher to dip the corn from the box to the screener/cleaner, which drops it into my rubbermaid 14 gal. "house" containers (I usually put 30-40# of corn in them to save hubby's back when he carries them into the house).
Hmmm...just dawned on me...I think he's trying to fix it so I can do all of the cleaning corn work...without his help. Ver-r-r-ry interesting...

I have to tell you, Greenstreak, I enjoyed reading your thread. We've all gone thru it...that dreaded learning curve of tuning. But man, once you've got it, these stoves are awesome. I like your idea of using a bore brush for the tubes, will have to see if hubby will part with an old one.
Glad your stove is running well and you're happy with it. Happy burning!!

First krissy, welcome to the forum. Sounds like you've got your hands full! I'm going to assume you've gone to the index for the stove specific site for your magnum (sorry, I don't know who the manufacture is). This will help you with MORE research (just what you need, eh?? ) Be sure you check the old corn forum too. Won't take long for the guys familiar with your furnace to start chiming in and giving you some help.
Good luck, keep warm, rest assured you've come to the right place and once again, welcome to the forum.

Sure wish our wind would settle. It's been blowing hard all day. Weather report calls for more snow tonight, more wind, a lovely 4 degrees for actual temp, well below zero with wind chill. But, baby girl Bixby is keeping us toasty warm. I'm surprised we haven't had to bump the heat level up higher than level 2 so far. At least the wind coming straight out of the west so the barn shields the house a bit. Of course, you'd still better have a good grip on the storm door when you head out the door...
Here's hoping your wind stays gentle and your boiler continues to idle, Tim!!

Welcome to the forum, kennykole. Ouch on your corn price...I'm with johnlb...where are you that corn is so high?? We just picked up 28 bu. today to finish out the season (Northeast Indiana). Bulk corn is $6.80 a bu, bagged is $9.20 for 50# (needless to say, we DON'T buy the bagged corn). And I thought the bulk rate here was high...
