The stove never was designed to be updated via thumbdrive or flashdrive. I don't know if your dealer had told that or not. The only way to update is with a dealer netbook and the dealer is probably the only one that is gonna do that. It plugs in to the thermostat and then to the usb on the netbook. The only way to adjust is through the thermostat, maybe try corn with the flame height on -5. I don't think you will see any difference in the amount of buildup in the firepot before it cleans though.

I've seen that before also, as far as I know the only fix is to replace the board. Also have the igniter wire harness with fuses installed while they are at it. Be sure that the control board programming is current (V4.0), so it isn't drawing power for longer then it needs to.

Good thing for the 90 day warranty, if they will cover it. You've got a short somewhere. I would be pulling the fuse holder and taking a look at that. I've seen holes melted right through them.

I call bull on the 2 years! I've got a lot of stoves out there way over 5 years that have never had one. Wouldn't make sense if you had to put that kind of money into it every 2 years.

Thanks Kap. I don't believe it is related to the micro switch because the motor runs like it should be moving, just fails to actually move the floor.
I talked to my dealer and my warranty runs out at the end if the month and he doesn't have a tech till next Saturday, which is past the warranty period. He agreed to try and submit the motor under warranty for me, but I have to install it myself instead. And he also said that if it not actually the motor, and turned out to be the control board or something like that, that he would not be able to submit that under warranty as well. So I have my fingers crossed.
I'll let you know how the motor install goes tonight, luckily they had one or else I would have probably been screwed.

I love dealers that try to pull this sh*t. If it's reported and it's an ongoing issue why the hell would they think the warranty stops just because the time has passed! Too many crooks out there, not saying that is the case with him but maybe he is just uninformed or uneducated on warranty procedure. Kind of sounds like he might not wanna accept the $55 dollars HHT pays to do the job so that's why "he doesn't have a tech available". I have had to replace 1 autoclean motor since we started selling these things when they came out.

Can you explain your cleaning process to us? Have you cleaned behind the intake baffle? I have seen buildup behind it cause this problem. Is there a screen on you exhaust cap?

Yes you do have to pull it. Doesn't matter whether its an AE or old sytle Mt Vernon, has to come out either way. What's the reason for changing it.

heat the snap disc with it off the stove and check for continuity after you hear it click. Did you follow the wires back from the disc to make sure something isn't unhooked. I suppose your control box could be bad but I haven't seen one do that. You could take the box to a local dealer and have them test it.

Control box has no bearing on when blower comes on, it's all controlled by the snap disc. What color were the wires that attach to the snap disc and have you tested the snap disc to make sure it is working?

They now use a catch called a twin ball catch. Not cheap ($40 each) but they are all metal and as far as I can see would never need to be replaced again.

Put power directly to the blower to be sure that is working. That would be the first place to start.

cut the terminals off where they connect to the stove and remove the zip tie on the inside that connects from the terminal block to the control board. this should take care of it.

I would get an optical sensor before changing the auger. If the auger is turning either forward or back, it's probably not the auger. Tough to tell if the optical sensore is bad without testing it on the netbook software.

Is your wall control saying auger jam on it or does it just not drop fuel and go out? Either way you should be getting some error on it?

I've had the wings on the wing nut strip and just turn on the threaded part. The easiest way is to remove the pot to get at it. Just like Kap already said, be sure to have a new gasket handy.
