not being able to change thd raft from 9 an manual is normal. i had the same problem as you with the draft code and it was from having inadequate air for combustion one way to find out is to crack a window and see if the stove will run ok . with mine if i closed my basement door my fire would burn out after a few hours. since then i've hooked up outside air and all is well.

i never cut it in half but i did cut some peices of steel to help keep the pellets from bouncing out but i was running clinker style not with a stirrer pot. i do think a little bit of an extension on the sides with a stirrer would help some but the ash would still have to be able to go somewhere so it probably shouldn't be too high of an extension. also you will want all of that extension on the front of the pot it helps alot.

reading a post today reminded me that you should check you vacuum hoses and switch if you take off the small cover where the stirrer motor is you should be able to see the hoses they can get brittle and fall apart also if you look at what the hose is attached to you should be able to find a nipple that goes through the side the fire box make sure there is no ash plugging it up you can clean it out with a paper clip or peice of wire.

Wow please tell me you did not pay for that kind of service it sounds like when the guy was done he left you with more problems than you had before in fact they should be paying you for a new tablesaw cord!

just use an instant read thermometer and point it right at the front of the stove just above the door.

how hot is the fire box being able to compare temp of the heated air to the heat of the firebox will help to find the problem if the fire box is hot then there is a problem with the heat exchange like a bad room fan motor clogged room air filter or something of the like.

I think using a two prong hanger will help you out a lot also.

You can special order the 10 inch butterfly damper from menards and probably any other big box store I use one of those magnetic thermometers for wood stoves that i also found at menards to measure fire box temp and for duct air i have a pointand shoot infrared thermometer i keep on top of the refridgerator just to check every now and then. i have heard of people using a digital meat thermomometer poked into the duct coming out of the furnace to measure duct temp as well.

no need for c codes to turn the agitator down while the stove is running just use the aux buttons on the control panel to adjust. the lower the number the less the agitator rotates just know that on the zero setting it wont turn at all

when i was burning with the stir pot ithe back fluff happened a lot one way to decrease the amount being stirred out of the pot is to turn the agitator down wich can be adjusted with the aux buttons. also with this stove you really pretty much have to have a butterfly type damper on the heated air duct outlet it slows down the air moving over the heat exchanger and lets it absorb a little more heat before going through the ducts and into your house. and yes i beleive the flashing -- in the heat range window means its not up to temp for the heat range selected.

How was it working before you changed th c codes?

I can't remember for sure but i beleive i changed the c codes so my bottom feed rate was 2 and my top was 8 and that was so i had a little more control over my heat because from th factory i was just setting it on cr-2 and it could get real hot in the house on milder days. also its helped me to save pellets for sure.

My wife told me this story about her adventure getting a few bags of pellets today to hold us over tille we get another ton this weekend.

any how she went into our local tsc and was getting the pellets when she noticed a dapper looking long haired fellow in a burberry scarf getting pellets as well she thought t herself he really doesn't look like the pellet burning type in fact her exact words were " He looked like a gentlemen farmer you know the guy that owns the farm but pays other people to do all the work and acts like he did it all". so my wife and the guy gets his pellets and pays for them and my wife does the same the funny part was when she walked out to the parking lot and the guy is standing next to his truck doing nothing but berating the tsc employee for not stacking his pellets right the clerk responds well if i stack them this way it wont tip over the guy says your not stacking them right the clerk says well tell me how to stack them and i'll stack them that way to wich the guy responds no i want you to just go inside and send someone out here who knows how to stack the clerk throws his hands in the air and goes inside mean while the guy is literally standing in the cold windy parking lot perfectly able to stack the pellets himself just waiting for a clerk to come stack them for him. While he's waiting my wife who weighs all of 130 lbs soaking wet loadsher pellets gets in her jeep and drives away thinking man my first impression of that guy was probably right on the money and then wondering how long they're gonna let that guy stand there waiting.

hey i feel like playing devils advocate. What Kind of stove do you think that guy was burning those pellets in?
