Subject: Heat distribution - by: Wheezer

Ok Im new at this and I've only had my stove on for about a week, I'm still tweaking (does it ever end) I have forced air heat as well and the thermostat is in the next room from my stove, so when I get to the hallway back its about 15 degrees cooler. Just need some advice to circulate heat to the bedrooms, since the furnace will not run when the the stove is burning. I have tried cycling my blower fan on my furnace but my ducts are in the attic so it doesn't get warm enough to heat the ducts up and move warm air. Any advice would be greatly appreciated my wifes feet are cold, and so are her comments about the stove. Thanks in advance.

How do I build a heat exchanger or what I really want to do is build a stainless steel loop on top of my firebox on my stove. It gets very hot there. I know which pump to buy but just need to know where to buy the coil or how to have someone bend the tubing to how I want it. What a process. I found a company online who builds the loops for 200.00 but they are suppose to go in the firebox and thats not what I want. Any suggestions. Thanks

I am wanting to install a 4100 pot in my 2100 stove. I have read the forum and think this would be a good upgrade.

I was wondering if there are any dealers on here that could give me a descent price on one. I haven't found any local dealers close by yet. I ordered my stove online and had it shipped to me.

Subject: Exhaust fan ramping up and down - by: thesixs

We've had problems the last few weeks with the exhaust fan in our 6039 ramping (or revving) up. We figured we must have a vacuum leak. We have checked the front of the stove and have some minor warping. We replaced the door seal gasket, and then added the silicone to insure it was fitting properly (cww's suggestion on the old forum). Also did the same with the hopper as the seal on that was looking a little worse for wear. We have a new glass pane (old one cracked over the summer) and new gasket around the glass. We are getting lots of black soot on the glass except for a small semi circle at the base of the glass. Hubby is reluctant to take a hammer to the latch.

Any ideas?? Are we even on the right track thinking the ramping in the exhaust fan is caused by a vacuum leak?

Subject: Im at a loss for an idea - by: Pellet

I let my Revolution go out after xmas and didnt go get more pellets til Friday. I filled the hopper and lit the furnace. Thought all was well til the wife complained it was a little chilly in the house so I went down to turn up the heat. No fire! I restarted figuring maybe there just wasnt enough in the auger to cycle and start properly. Restarted and went back up stairs and thenext morning (today, I went down to see why the chill and the fire pot was full with half burned pellets. Although I cleaned the furnace when we ran it out so had no issue there, I cleaned the pot and restarted, got a little flame and it went out and pot filled. I went through the procedures, including another complete cleaning today. Now I cant even get a spark from the ignighter. I have checked the combution fan, its seems to be working ok, Tried setting the draft and trim but still no spark or sign fire. Burn pot fills and goes into a flashing mode, #3 to be exact which is of course a P.O.F. indicator. Obviously no fire at all. The last tingI tried was to take the cover off the front to see the ignighter wires and they seemed to be loose in the poreolin block they go into and oneof the terminals are completely black. I tried to tighten the terminal screws but didnt force theissue too much. My question is "has anybody else had to change an ignighter or is there something I missed? Only other thought is the control board has gone bad. Been cleaned teice today and even gave it a spring and fall type cleaning and fire. Any ideas?

Subject: 4100 Burning HOT HOT HOT - by: nlacorte

Last week my 4100 started burning much hotter at level 2, which is my normal setting for pellets. Lowered to level 1 and temp still around 88 f even with fan on lowest. Bought different brand of pellets, but no difference. Fuel appears to be dropping faster than I recall. Is there a problem with a sensor? I am hoping to fix/replace myself, but am not handy. Installer is over 1 hour away and charges quite a bit for labor due to travel time. No local vendor so welcome any ideas. Thanks!

Subject: 2007 Magnum Baby Countryside-Sheboygan, WI - by: Mr James

We purchased this Magnum Baby Countryside (corn) stove new in 2007, when we lived in northern Minnesota. (If you think central Wisconsin gets cold, let me tell you about -30's and -40's where we lived). I call it a corn stove because that is what we primarily burn in it. It is intended for indoor use and is approved for mobile homes, as certified by the manufacturer. I have also burned wood pellets and Rye, but corn is a bit cheaper at the moment than wood pellets. It can burn wood pellets, cherry pits, shelled corn, olive pits, dog food, etc... Also, the Baby Countryside has connections on the back for using a (car) battery in case the power goes out. We used it primarily for burning during the day to reduce the amount of propane/natural gas that our furnace uses.

Edit: We burned about 1 bushel of corn (55lbs I think) of corn per 24 hours. We only run the stove during the day (roughly 8am - 8pm). Keeps our lower floors at about 72 degrees or so, depending on the type of house and insulation and the setting of the stove.

Link for manufacturer: www.americanenergysystems.com/magnum-baby-countryside.cfm

We are moving within the next couple of weeks to southern Texas and I really want to move this stove. (We are moving to a warmer climate that won't require much, if any, heat.)

***It includes 8 x 55g gallon steel storage bins with seal-able lids, the rest of the corn in my cache (which is currently 1.5 barrels full), my corn cleaner (used for screening the corn before you burn (makes a better, more efficient burn), a few cleaning implements I use to clean the stove, the remainder of the lighter fluid, all of the pipes for venting the exhaust, the fireproof pad the stove sits on, and maybe a few other items I can't think of at the moment.
